Chateau life, Gironde, Nouvelle Aquitaine
Once owned by Mr. de La Regnie, police lieutenant of King Louis XIV the domaine of Respide is one of the oldest wines with the Graves appellation, referenced in the Feret guide in 1850, the bible of Bordeaux wines. The painter Toulouse-Lautrec loved to come and play endless games of pool with his cousin Louis Pascal whose portrait he painted several times. He very much enjoyed the white wines of the property. Mr. Ernest Pascal, father of Louis, then prefect of Bordeaux built the present castle in the middle of the nineteenth century. The Chateau Respide is located 40 km from Bordeaux by motorway, 5 minutes from Langon with its commercial center.
