Manor House with B&B rooms, outbuildings, land with a small lake, Manche, Normandy
This lovely Manor House was built on the ruines of a Château which was surrounded by fortifications in the Middle Ages and a moat. The Château was destroyed after a court ruling and remained in ruines until the end of the 17th century/beginning of the 18th century when the Manor House was built. Some of the original stones were re-used including the granite fireplaces with coat of arms and the beams in the main bedroom. The moat still existed until the 1930's. More recently the present owner developed a business selling products made at the property including cider, apple brandy, jams and free range poultry, together with 3 B&B rooms, visits to the farm and produce tasting days.
The property benefits from predominantly double glazed windows, a heat exchange unit for the central heating, spacious and versatile accommodation with exposed stone, granite fireplaces and exposed beams. The main house is used for family accommodation, a reception room for guests and an en-suite bedroom for guests. There is a huge attic space which would be ideal for converting into further bedrooms if required. The other two B&B rooms are in the Pigeonnier - one on the ground floor and the other on the first floor. There are no close neighbours but there are shops, schools, pharmacy etc. within 5 minutes drive.
