Caen is just over an hour's drive from the house and there are some wonderful beaches on the coast near Granville.

Drainage is via a septic tank that was updated in December 2018 to comply with the latest regulations. Heating is by a very efficient wood-burning stove with the addition of programmable convector heaters. An immersion heater provides hot water and was replaced last year (2018). There is also a VMC extractor fan unit which keeps the air fresh and circulating when the house is empty.
