King Henri IV of France is believed to have stopped here on his frequent journies from Navarre to Nerac, hence the name of the spring on the property known as 'The King's Fountain'! The dressed stone, architectural features and style are very typical of the region and those periods and share common features with D'Artagnan's chateau further to the west, as well as with several others well-known in Gascony!
