A stone's throw from the Medieval town of Pérouges, Ain, Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes
The Medieval town of Pérouges is one of the most visited towns in the Lyon region and is simply quite magical. Not only its cobbled streets and magnificent architecture, but the many restaurants to choose from, not forgetting those famous galettes!
Just along the tree-lined lanes from Pérouges and past the ancient 'lavoire', you will find this charming house that was once the black-smith’s home and still contains its original fireplace, along with many other original features including exposed beams and original stone and timber floors.
Built in the early 1900's it underwent renovation in the 1980's and is now ready for you to move in and perhaps add your own style. The dimensions of the rooms are large and could be adapted to either sleeping or activity rooms for a large family.
Whether you are receiving family and guests, or want to create an income renting out the upper level of the house (easily accessible by a separate stairway), there are so many possibilities and potential here. There is even a substantial barn attached to the house, which could possibly (with planning permission) be converted into separate accommodation, or used as an atelier upstairs with a garage underneath.
All the rooms have excellent proportions and upstairs you can even see the mountains. The land is large enough to place a pool (subject to necessary permissions) or ample room to park your car off the street if you wish .
The local village of St Eloi has many facilities, including a school and market every week, along with sporting facilities. Lyon is only 35 kilometres and Geneva 120 kilometres.
